Institute For Peace Studies

Peace is the state of existing during the absence of war or a state of harmony between people or groups. The idea of peace is as old as human society. Yet the historical record is filled with accounts of battles and war, of misunderstanding and conflicts. However, peace advocates, including internationalists, direct their energies toward building machinery or institutions to resolve differences or ameliorate conditions that lead to violence.
