The Institute for Peace Studies was launched in February 2006 by the Suzanne Mubarak Women's International Peace Movement (SMWIPM). It is the first Institute that focuses on studies and academic research in the areas of peace and conflict. Presently hosted at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the IPS performs the dual function of serving as a high quality academic institution and, simultaneously, acting as the intellectual arm of the SMWIPM and its relevant institutions and programs.

The Institute for Peace Studies (IPS) announces its 2nd registration period which will start next Sunday, 1st of August; each day except Fridays & Saturdays; from 2:30 to 4:30 PM at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center and will continue until the 10th of August, 2010.
